During the TV Reunion of the Atlanta Housewives, a viewer asked cast member Sheree if she were a lesbian. The viewer questioned Sheree’s sexuality because Sheree is single (divorced), isn’t dating (as far as we know), and hangs out with a female friend.
This made me question why people question a person’s sexuality just because she/he is single and not dating and/or hangs out with a good friend of the same gender.
Has society become so obsessed with “all things gay” that we are assuming everybody must be gay/lesbian?
Tune in and listen as I share my thoughts on the matter.

News reports and photos of ex-baseball player Sammy Sosa hit the net. It appears that Sosa has changed his beautiful brown complexion. His skin color/complexion is now ghostly white. Is the change in his skin color the result of self-hatred and internalized racism?

We breakdown a few of the week’s hot topics.
Joe Jackson - Why is the Media Demonizing Him? Joe Jackson is Michael Jackson’s father. The media say he was/is an abusive father? Was he abusive or was he just a strong disciplinarian? Why do Black people and white people view the word “beating(s)” differently? Would today’s families be better off if we had more fathers like Joe Jackson?
Racism in the Obama Era? Some people claimed racism would end and that we would have a post racial society with Barack Obama as the 1st African-American president. Well recent racial events suggest otherwise. We delve into recent race-related stories like the dragging death of a Black man in Texas and the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

Rena and I tackle some of the hot topics of the week:
New study shows “baby-faced” Black CEOs more likely to succeed in corporate America than those who look “mature.” Gee, we wonder why?
Eminem spits racist, derogatory lyrics about Black women. Why aren’t Black folks putting him in check?
Feminists are divided over Michelle Obama’s role as First Lady? Is she wrong for making motherhood her highest priority?
Finally, we talk NBA playoffs/Finals. Can the Lakers make it to the finals? Is it time for Lebron James to replace Kobe as THE star of the NBA?

Obama will be the 44th President. Black folks are hyped. Many of us are so hyped that we believe racism will no longer be an issue. Is that just wishful thinking on the part of Black people? Has America really put racism to rest? Rena and I tell you what we think.

History may be made with this year’s presidential election. With this in mind, Rena and I explore some pivitol questions:
Are people, especially Black people, putting too much hope in Obama? If chosen, will Obama be a Black president or a president who happens to be Black? If chosen as the next president, will Obama supporters turn on him if he does not bring about “change” quickly?
Join us as we answer these and other questions.

The following is a sneak preview, if you will, of The Naked Truth podcast. It contains excerpts from a previously recorded program.
In February 2008 Rena and I sat down and discussed the hype surrounding Barack Obama. We examined the Obama phenomena from various angles. We looked at why Black people, initially, didn’t support Obama and why Black people support him now.
We discussed why he appeals to white people. We also raised some key questions: Are people expecting too much from Obama? And is he really that different from Hillary Clinton?
You can decide for yourself.
